Ok guys. I usually turn my nose up at people who give excuses left and right but I have a perfectly legitimate reason for why I've been MIA all week. This Wednesday, my laptop charger finally decided to crap out on me. Remember this? Yea, so this is what the charger looks like now. I guess those little wires finally reached snapping point.
Ok, I lied. I did have a few backup powerpoints/pdfs/worksheets on Moodle from last semester. However, since the site got a total makeover this summer, I wasn't able to find the old page until the admin emailed me the link. Despite that, I've been swamped and sleep-deprived the past few days attempting to recover recent data the snailpace way—via memory, green tea, and endless reserves of patience.
I'm severely bummed out right now. Last night, as I was getting ready to do some last minute lesson plan touch-ups, I realized the flashdrive I store all my teaching material on has a hardware malfunction. I've plugged it into 5 different PCs and laptops in the past 24 hours but it just won't read. Tried going into disk management and changing drive names but there's probably a nick on the board that's causing the 0MB found in properties. That crappy little usb had a year's worth of ppts, archives of animated gifs to adorn my slides with, spreadsheets, lesson plans, templates, craft ideas, foodday recipes...ok I'm depressing myself here. I'm gonna stop now. I caved. Went and bought a new harddrive after like, what, 6 years? It feels good to see so little blue in my drives.
