As this is our first foodday of the year, everyone was quite excited about it. Earlier this week, we had a student bring in store-bought mooncakes (at first her grandma was going to handmake them but her little brother ended up devouring all of them the day of so she bought in a box that her family had lying around at home). Somehow, even though there were only 4 cakes, I was able to divvy it up among almost 30 students. Efficiency ftw.
Today we had our first foodday. We ate mooncakes, Chinese food and all sorts of asian nummies. The Mid-Autumn festival takes place on the 15th day of the 8th month on the lunar calendar, which, according to the Gregorian calendar was Sept. 8 this year. All this week we have watched an assortment of videos on this major Chinese holiday, including the legend behind this festival, making of mooncakes, the wide variety of 月饼 (Yuèbǐng), etc etc. We also read related articles such as the one about the man who ate too many mooncakes.

In hindsight, my last entry was slightly/maybe/definitely ah over the top. I usually don't do much venting in public (much less on this openbook blog), but I was fed up with having to watch my back each time I shared my art online. Wish the immaturity had ended before things went this far but hopefully no more psychological whammies. Since we're on a roll here, let's go all out. I finally figured out who my other mystery circler-uncircler is. I'm hoping I weed them all out soon...having ghost followers is pretty pointless. I guess I should've known from Day 1 but I hadn't gone back to check out her profile since the day she made that doubletake comment. It all makes sense now.
Hey, I'm sorry you lost, uh let's see 942 - 828 = 114 followers but maybe you shouldn't have made that mean comment [then deleted once the unfollow started happenin]. Yep, this one: It's been a while since I last went to church with the fam. I've been so busy since school started that I guess I just hadn't found the time.
Today happened to be communion Sunday, which is great because I always get hungry during service. Thus, having a tiny piece of cracker and grape juice to satisfy that craving (albeit not by much) is nice. Apparently, they've gotten smarter with the time-saving techniques too. Instead of passing two separate juice and bread trays around, UCC now puts the cracker inside one disposable cup, stacking the juice cup on top. Very efficient. Good job guys. Ok guys. I usually turn my nose up at people who give excuses left and right but I have a perfectly legitimate reason for why I've been MIA all week. This Wednesday, my laptop charger finally decided to crap out on me. Remember this? Yea, so this is what the charger looks like now. I guess those little wires finally reached snapping point.
