Didn't end up doing anything appendage related but I did clean her out–all the clay boogers and badly packed clay in the interior, that is.
I reckoned if I didn’t do the painstaking work now, the piece would probably fall apart later.
I woke up around 6 this the morning with a sudden urge to finish that arm.

I reckoned if I didn’t do the painstaking work now, the piece would probably fall apart later. I did a lot of reconstruction today. Chopped off her legs since they've become cumbersome. She needs to be built the exact same way human machine was: torso/back, appendages, then face.
After over a week of soaking, the clay is old, soft, and ripping at junctions. What a mess. Almost want to wad the whole thing up and start all over Shit’s just not packed as tightly as new clay would be.

Officially using a bag instead of plastic sheets now. Which means no more watering down the clay each time at the start of each studio session. Enfin! What a chore.. |
